Larry Gonick was born in 1946 and spent 1994 to 1995 as a Knights Science Journalist, a prestigious fellowship opportunity in the field of Science. He studied math at Harvard and graduated with a Summa  Cum Laude Degree. Larry is the staff cartoonist for MUSE magazine. He wrote The Cartoon History of the Universe. Cartoon History of the Universe was named in the top 100 comic books of the twentieth Century. Some of the other books he has written are The Cartoon Guide to Chemistry, The Cartoon History of the Universe Three, and Cartoon Guide to Physics. He lives in California with his wife and two daughters.[1] [2] [3]

Art Spiegelman was born in Stockholm, Sweden in 1948. Later he immigrated to Queens, New York with his parents. Eventually he enrolled in Harpur College in upstate New York and, even though his parents wanted him to practice dentistry, he began studying art and philosophy. Though he left college after only two years, he had a career as an artist, drawing “Bazooka Joe” comics for Topps Gum Company. He worked there for twenty years until an ownership dispute over his works. But while working for Topps Gum Company, he started publishing underground magazines like Real Pulp. In 1980, he and his wife, Francoise Mouly, founded Real Art Works (RAW). Between 1980 and 1985, Spiegelman’s first volume of Maus was printed within the pages of RAW. Maus was later published as a graphic novel. After the second volume of Maus was published, he received several different awards, including a special Pulitzer Prize. [4]
